Icarus caves locations are always the same, but their accessibility differs from mission to mission. This includes random weather events, resources appearing in different locations, and if caves are open or closed. Still, there are some procedural elements that help each playthrough to feel different. Unlike a lot of other survival games, Icarus is not relying on procedural generation the whole planet and all of its biomes are hand-crafted. In order to do this, you will need to level up, advance through your tech tree, and collect rare and precious resources that can be found around the planet.Īnd some of the rarest and most important resources, such as Iron Ore and Coal, can be found in caves scattered across the planet. Caves in Icarus have numerous resources, but dangers as well. And most importantly, you will need to complete your mission before your orbital pod abandons you. You will need to take care of your character's oxygen levels, protect yourself from natural disasters and harsh weather, and deflect attacks of various wild beasts lurking in the shadows and waiting for you to make one wrong move.
